Recreational Rowing

Our club is as much about socializing as it is about rowing. The WRC Recreational Rowing program offers the best of both worlds to our members: fun & fitness! Over half of WRC members participated in this program in 2024!

Recreational Rowing (Rec Row) is available to all members at no additional cost.  During the season, members typically gather for rows twice during the week in the evenings (Tuesdays & Thursdays) and one weekend evening (Sunday).  Rec Row typically gets started in the early Spring for and can go into late Fall depending on weather and daylight.

The program provides development drills to enhance rowing technique.  The workout and camaraderie with fellow members is enjoyable and promotes overall health and well-being. Come and join us! Rowers in Rec Row encompass a wide range of experience from recent Learn to Row & Novice graduates to those who have been rowing for over 20 years!

In 2025 the same social, and moderate intensity boats will continue to be available. Additionally there will also be a new branch of Rec Row which will focus on increasing rower athleticism and skill.  Restructuring details are still being developed and finalized but will be published as soon as they are solidified.

A winter workout schedule is being compiled and will be available in January for those who are interested.
