Annual Santa Row Benefit for Ministry of Caring
The Wilmington Rowing Center gives back to the community by holding our Annual Santa Row Fundraiser to benefit the Ministry of Caring. The Ministry of Caring is a community-based nonprofit organization devoted to serving poor and homeless people in and around Wilmington, Delaware. This festive event is held each December to raise money and provides an opportunity for members to decorate boats and row in costume along the Christina Riverfront. The rowing club, friends, family, and community supporters are encouraged to participate in the worthy cause. It is a fun time for all!

Christina River Clean-up
Each year, the Wilmington Rowing Center supports the Christina River Clean-up efforts. We celebrated the 20th Annual Cleanup on Saturday, April 16, 2011. We know the importance of protecting the single most important natural resource in our region…our waterways. The Christina River Watershed provides 75% of the public water supply for residents and businesses in New Castle County. A solid effort is needed annually to keep each of these waterways as free from debris as possible. Since the Cleanup began in 1992, more than 330 tons of tires, appliances, household items, and uncountable pieces of plastic and Styrofoam have been cleared from the Christina River, White Clay Creek, Red Clay Creek, and various other tributaries. http://www.christinarivercleanup.org/
